Melbourne filmmaker Danny Ben Moshe has produced a film about Yom Kippur during lockdown for ABC-TV.

The programme will be themed around key elements of Yom Kippur, told through the lives of a cross-section of the Melbourne Jewish community.

It will incorporate elements of the Yom Kippur service, building to the Kol Nidrei Prayer and the blowing of the Shofar.

The program will be shown at 4:00 pm on Sunday 27 September and will be simultaneously streamed on Religion & Ethics Facebook page and ABC iView.

It will also be available in ABC iView well after the event.

The programme will provide comfort and unite the Jewish community while also providing an insight into the traditions surrounding Yom Kippur for a non-Jewish audience.

Danny Ben-Moshe’s production company Identity Films is well-known for its successful films including Outback Rabbis, Strictly Jewish,  My Mother’s lost Children and The Buchenwald Ball.
