Over 300 attended Sydney’s Yom Hazikaron ceremony at the National Council Of Jewish Women.

Representatives from The Jewish Day schools and BJE shared stories about fallen Israeli Soldiers with one Emanuel student, Dean Smuskowitz performing a song he wrote about one of the fallen soldiers – Matan Gottlieb titled The Song for Sergeant Gottlieb. The Zionist Youth Movement Band performed songs including Millions of Stars.

Four members of the IDF Band who will be performing at the ZCNSW Yom Ha’atzmaut Solidarity Concert and carnival on Sunday performed Kshalev Boche, kol matos and Livkot L’cha.

Shimon Alankri, An IDF soldier who’s Jeep was hit by an antitank missile fired by Gaza terrorists in 2012 and miraculously recovered also addressed the audience.

Yom Hazikaron was organised by the Zionist Council of NSW
