The in-person ceremony was held at Moriah College with a screening and candle lighting at Masada College.

Holocaust survivor Olga Horak delivered the keynote address with an emotional plea to the audience: “Always remember. Please do not ever forget.”

Joining Olga, in lighting a candle were Joseph Symon, Ana de Leon, Gaby de Leon, Jack Meister and Sam Young.

Holocaust survivor Egon Sonnenschein spoke about the Bosnian family who hid his baby sister during the Holocaust and was given the honour of Righteous Among the Nations.

Alexis Fishman, Australian/American actress and singer, spoke about keeping alive her family’s stories of survival and delivered a moving performance of ‘Avinu Malkeinu’, accompanied by Chutney Unplugged’s Ben Adler and Paul Khodor. Rabbi Yehoshua Niasoff also performed on the night.
