The legacy of the Holocaust was passed down by survivor Frank Lowy to his son and grandson in a ceremony in Sydney this week,
Frank passed the baton to son Steven who then passed it on to his son Joshua. The Lowys were at the Eastern Suburbs function, held at Moriah College.
Other functions were held at the Martyrs Memorial at Rookwood Cemetery, Masada College and the Jewish Museum
1400 people attended ceremonies in Sydney this week with invited guests including the Israeli Ambassador, Yuval Rotem, Jewish Board of Deputies President Robin Margo, former State Premier Bob Carr, Federal Member of Parliament Mark Dreyfus and NSW Education Minister Verity Firth
