Over 200 guests joined Israel’s ambassador to Australia Shmuel Ben-Shmuel in celebrating Yom Ha’azmaut…Israel’s 69th anniversary of its independence.

The Assistant Chief of Protocol for Foreign Affairs Phillip Stonehouse gave the toast to Israel at the event at the National Gallery of Australia.

The ambassador gave a toast and addressed the guests welcoming Michael Danby as representing the opposition.

The function was attended by members of the diplomatic corps including ambassadors and Jewish leaders from Sydney and Melbourne.
