Over 750 attended a Yom Ha’azmaut celebration in Sydney which was addressed by NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian and Israel’s  ambassador to Australia Mark Sofer.

Premier Gladys Berejiklian toasts Israel ob its 70th anniversary of its independence

The guests at the Four Seasons Hotel included members of Sydney’s Jewish community and distinguished personalities from mainly the political ranks.

The event, organised by The New South Wales Jewish Board of Deputies, The Executive Council of Australian Jewry and the State Zionist Council of NSW.

Addresses were also given by The New South Wales Jewish Board of Deputies president Jeremy Spinak and the president of SZCNSW Richard Balkin.
