Yarra City Council takes a position on the Israel-Gaza conflict.

The president of The Jewish Community Council of Victoria has slammed the Yarra City Council in Melbourne which passed a resolution to show support for Palestinians.

Daniel Aghion said: “The JCCV is dismayed by the one-sided resolution passed by the City of Yarra.
In particular, by showing solidarity with “Yarra-based Palestinians”, the Council has excluded and marginalised Israelis and supporters of Israel who live and work in the City of Yarra. They have friends and families who are the victims of a relentless bombing campaign by Hamas, of over 4,000 missiles fired indiscriminately into Israel.”
The Herald Sun reported that the resolution blamed the violence on the Israeli “occupation”. According to the report, the resolution moved by Councillor Stephen Jolly stated: “The Council notes with deep concern the escalation of violence in Israel and Palestine, with hundreds of Palestinians killed in the last week and ten in Israel, with Palestinians bearing the brunt of the attacks by the Israeli military in Gaza.”
Glen Eira Council (Caulfield area) can at time be pro Israel too.
It is not the role of Local Government to engage in foreign affairs. Councils should focus on their local amenity and service provision.
So there’s no concern by Yarra Council about any Israelis or Jews who, until the ceasefire, were being bombed by the 4,000+ Hamas missiles directed at civilian targets (ironically, 30% of these have misfired and murdered at least 2 dozen of their own). Moreover, since most of the dead in Gaza were terrorists, Council is siding with war criminals and terrorists and exercising their powers in a way that discriminates against its own citizens. Let’s call this out for what it is – blatant racism.
A lot of these comments and reactions are a direct result of “OUR” ABC constantly biased ‘news’ and now also the lies and sheer ignorance in their “in-depth super biased reports and analysis’s” .
The amount of misinformation and blatant inventions are just staggering!
I have written to the ABC many times ( and I am not the only one – many of us have…)
But are borderline antisemitic in news, programs and reports.. Even if they hide under the umbrella of “Israel policies condemnation..” or whatever else they can come up with..
If they would be unbiased then we could also listen to the Israeli side of things..
( yeap not the ones they pick because they don’t like Israel ) – I mean real Israelis who love their country, live there and speak Hebrew… They would research ACTUAL HISTORY… Not the made up inventions Palestinian MISSIONARIES have been feeding the ignorants for decades.
Palestinians have learned well from the KGB when they first ‘educated’ Arafat… ( Become the “victim” they said…) The slow march ( of misinformation) through the institutions is the key…
We don’t have ‘missionaries’ and our religion – unlike Islams”Tekiya’ – doesn’t allow lies..
