Victorian Beth Din Dayanim

The Council of Orthodox Synagogues of Victoria has announced the ratification of the Dayanim of Melbourne Beth Din.

Following the COSV, Rabbinical Council of Victoria and the Melbourne Beth Din agreed nomination & ratification process for Dayanim to serve a two year term on the MBD, COSV President, Robert Wyner announced Melbourne Beth Din’s new Dayanim.

Rabbi Mordechai Zev Gutnick, AV Dayan, Rabbi Yisroel Greenwald and Rabbi Avraham Kievman will serve a two year term.

Rabbi Mordechai Gutnick has been an active member of the Australian Rabbinate for some forty years, most of that period having been in Melbourne where he has long been a Dayan on the MBD.

Rabbi Yehuda Greenwald is a Chaver Kollel Beth Hatalmud and is now honoured to become a Dayan on the MBD

Rabbi Avraham Kievman has been a Dayan on the MBD since 2004.

Robert Wyner said, “The Beth Din plays a vital role in Melbourne’s Jewish life. Rabbi’s Gutnick, Greenwald and Kievman are eminently qualified to deliver service to our community and COSV looks forward to working with the MBD Board & Dayanim to continue to improve the functioning & service of the MBD.”
