U.S. Consul tours Sydney’s Great Synagogue
US Consul-General Judith Fergin paid a visit to the Great Synagogue in Sydney this week.
Accompanied by her Public Affairs officer Alexai Krai, she was shown round the historic synagogue by president Ros Fischl, Rabbi Jeremy Lawrence and governor and former president, Jake Selinger.
Selinger told J-Wire: “The Great is the oldest congregation in Australia and has a history of visits from U.S. ambassadors and consul -generals. It was a pleasure to continue this tradition by giving the emissary a full tour and brief history of the shul.”
