Talented Sydney North Shore teenager Scout Clementine Silbersher is set to star in the cult teen musical “13” when it opens in late September.

The US-born Mosman High student plays ‘Patrice’ in the production which – like the Broadway original – stars an all-teen cast AND band.

“13” is the latest blockbuster from Birdie Productions which earlier this year produced sell-out seasons of “Hot Shoe Shuffle” (starring Daryl Somers) and cheeky “Keating: the Musical”.

The fresh young company now steps up the energy with the cultish hit teen musical: 13 which follows the story of young New York teen Evan Goldman (played by Noah Mullins).

Evan has it all: He’s popular, has the ‘perfect’ family and lives in the world’s greatest city. But when his parents get divorced – on the eve of his barmitzvah – he’s forced to move with his Mum to small-town Appleton, Indiana. Uprooted from his old life, he must manoeuver his way through the minefield of high school to become part of the ‘in’ crowd.

Hailing from “The Big Apple” (New York City), Scout is a genuine ‘triple threat’ – a singer, dancer and actor – studying at TAFTA Screen Acting for Kids, Bright Sparks for Musical Theatre and singing with Yvette Masters and Sydney Olympics bid legend and pop star Nikki Webster.

Not yet 15 years old, Scout’s blossoming career highlights already include making “The Voice Kids” Top 100 blind auditions last year and appearing in two films this year “Hello, this is Australia” and “Project Air”.

“I’m absolutely over the moon to be playing Patrice,” says Scout.

“The entire cast and crew has already become a close family. We talk constantly about our parts and each other as just people.

“It’s also a pretty amazing fit that I’m from New York and had a Bat Mitzvah myself last year by my loving grandfather the Rabbi.

“This is my first major role and I’m so grateful to Birdie Productions. The fun is just getting started!!”

With wit and searing honesty, 13 is a hilarious, high-energy musical for all ages.

Featuring an explosive rock score by celebrated composer Jason Robert Brown (Parade, The Last Five Years, Songs for a New World) and performed by an astonishing cast of thirteen young Sydney actors, 13 is about growing up, dealing with change and learning that becoming who you want to be starts with discovering who you are.
