UIA NSW Women’s Division welcomes partners to Gala Event
Due to popular demand and Israel’s special milestone, UIA is inviting partners of women attending the Women’s Division Gala Event to also join in the festivities on Sunday 11 March.
UIA NSW Women’s Division is counting down until its 2018 Campaign events next week to celebrate Israel’s 70th anniversary.
UIA is excited to host guest speakers including Ambassador Belaynesh Zevadia – the first Ethiopian Olah to become an Ambassador representing Israel, and renowned Israeli print and television journalist, Alon Ben-David for the events.
Born in Ambober, Ethiopia, Zevadia made Aliyah at 16 years old, graduating with a BA and MA from the Hebrew University in Jerusalem. She was appointed as an Ambassador in 2012, after serving in Israel Consulate posts in America.
Ben-David has covered the Middle East conflict for the last 30 years, specialising in defense and military issues. Currently Senior Defense Correspondent for Israel Channel 10, Ben-David frequently lectures around the world on topics relating to the Middle East. He is also a senior research fellow at the Centre for International Communication at Bar-Ilan University.
Events will include entertainment by sand artist, Sheli Ben Nun who creates sand animation using imagination, sand and light.
UIA Women’s Division 2018 Campaign will once again focus on supporting the program ‘A Profession for Life,’ and the Young Women’s Tikvah Division will support victims of terror.
The Campaign events will be a unique opportunity for women from our Community to come together in what should be some of Sydney’s largest gatherings celebrating Israel’s 70th. It is also a way for the Community to make a significant contribution to Israel’s most valuable asset – OUR PEOPLE.
UIA NSW Women’s Division Co-Chairmen Bev Michaelis and Judy Stromer said: “We are thrilled with our line up of speakers and entertainment. From Ambassador Belaynesh Zevadia and Alon Ben-David; to Sheli Ben Nun and Nicky Kurta, we are in for a wonderful Campaign. Belaynesh epitomises what KH-UIA stands for and is the best person to hear from as we celebrate Israel’s achievements on its 70th anniversary. Book now and join us in celebration.”
