Homes in two affluent Brisbane suburbs have received mail drops inviting residents to “join your local Nazis”.

Auchenflower householders received pamphlets advising they had been visited by the European Australian Movement.

Paddington residents received mail telling them they had been visited by the National Socialist Network.

The president of the Queensland Jewish Board of Deputies, Jason Steinberg, told J-Wire: “The leaflets were sickening for the community.

We have members of our community living in and around this part of Brisbane and for them to receive this kind of hate mail is shocking,” he said.
These groups peddling hate and antisemitic stereotypes need to be stopped and we hope the Queensland Government’s move to criminalise Nazi hate symbols is a clear message to these groups that this kind of ideology is not welcome in our state.”
