Together with the AJAX President Ronnie Lewis and immediate past President and dedicated Jewish Care volunteer Ian Fayman, eight AJAX players helped improve the residential gardens. From high pressure cleaning and emptying the fountains to filling the garden beds with fresh soil, they all demonstrated a ‘best on ground’ performance and have helped to enhance the living conditions of residents.

“At AJAX footy club, we have always believed that true success should be achieved not only on the field but off field as well,” said Ian Fayman. “And giving back to the community is the best way to do just that.”

Jenni Colliver, Facility Manager Gary Smorgon House, said: “We appreciate the involvement of the AJAX volunteers who demonstrated excellent teamwork to produce a winning result! Our residents were thrilled to see their gardens being revamped.”

Once the job was done, the AJAX volunteers enjoyed socialising with Gary Smorgon House residents and Jewish Care staff.
