Trivia quiz at Limmud Oz
You are invited to attend Limmud Oz at the UNSW Roundhouse, this Saturday night 15 June to Monday 17 June.
You may think of Limmud Oz as the place for fascinating Jewish panels, talks and debates. With 140 sessions over three days, that certainly is true for the ‘Festival of Jewish Ideas’.
Listening to speakers from around the world isn’t the only way you can learn at Limmud Oz – we invite you to learn about Jewish culture and traditions through experiences that inspire your participation:
- Interactive workshops –from how to make sauerkraut like a true yiddishe grandmother, to ‘Vegan Shabbat: a beginners’ guide’
- Interactive musical performances –from a Safra journey through Iraqi-Jewish music, to ‘Swinging with Yiddish songs’
- Interactive mind, body & soul experiences –from Jewish meditation to a Krav Maga introductory class
- Interactive Little Limmud activities for kids – from Alef Bet Yoga to Mezuzah decorating
One of Limmud Oz’s interactive sessions is sure to get your competitive juices flowing – Big Macher Trivia, Limmud Oz’s inaugural Jewish-themed trivia quiz, this Sunday night (June 16) at 8pm!
Hosted by trivia junkie Dane Stern, test your knowledge of all things Jewish in rounds on Israel, Judaism, Jews in Australia, Jews around the world, Jewish culture and even Jewish food!
Dane Stern commented: “If you’re looking to relax this Sunday at 8pm, the klezmer & jazz performance is for you. If you’re looking to learn, I suggest ‘Is BDS winning the game?’ or ‘Einstein and the Rabbi’.
“My trivia session isn’t about relaxing and learning – it’s about competing and teaching your rivals who really are the community’s Big Machers. When it comes to recognising your Jewish genius, even Einstein and the Rabbis would stray close to idol worship!”
Members of the winning team will receive free tickets to Shalom’s upcoming theatre production The God of Isaac at the Eternity Playhouse in Darlinghurst.
Below are some sample questions for you to nosh on. To find out how many you got correct, email your answers to [email protected], noting whether you’ve purchased a ticket to Limmud Oz.
