This knife will sever your heads from your bodies, just like you severed East Jerusalem from West Jerusalem
A speech made by the spiritual leader of Hizb ut-Tahrir in Sydney has been referred by The New South Wales Jewish Board of Deputies to the NSW Attorney-General for possible prosecution.
Ismail al-Wahwah made the speech in Arabic at a rally which was live-streamed to Al Jazeera’s Facebook on December 16, 2017 as a reaction to President Trump recognising Jerusalem as Israel’s capital.
Al-Wahwah posted the video to his YouTube on July 29 this year.
MEMRI has translated part of the video which contains statements as these:
“To the entity of the Jews we say: Do not rejoice. You shouldn’t rejoice much. The day will come when you will cry blood. There will be no place for you in Palestine.”
“… the very knife with which you cut Palestine is a criminal, infidel, hypocritical knife, and it will be turned against you and will cut your bodies and behead you. This knife will sever your heads from your bodies, just like you severed East Jerusalem from West Jerusalem.”
“We extend to you the following words of advice: Whoever among you has any brains should take his passport, leave Palestine, and go back to where you came from – Paris, London, Moscow, Poland, Germany, and America. Go back to where you came from as invaders, or else you shall meet your fate, and we both know what that means.”
“This is the accursed Trump, who signed the decision designating Jerusalem as the capital of the Jews. We say to him: You son of an infidel woman, you may think that our nation follows the same religion as those vile and treacherous rulers. You may think that our nation will surrender to you for no reason, like the rulers did. Those treacherous rulers are your collaborators and your slaves. We will trample you and them underfoot and send you to the garbage bin of history.”
“The Jews captured Palestine through war, as did the Crusaders, and the [Islamic] nation will take it back only through war.”
The NSW Attorney-General Mark Speakman told J-Wire: “I’m horrified by the shocking statements of violence in these videos.
No matter your religion, no matter your faith, no matter what you believe – there is never an excuse to incite violence against anyone in our community. NSW is a proudly multicultural and multi-faith society, and any encouragement of violence based on someone’s race or religion is totally unacceptable.
The NSW Government introduced tough laws making it a criminal offence to publicly threaten violence on the basis of race, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity, intersex or HIV/AIDS status, which attracts a maximum penalty of three years in prison.
In May this year, the NSW Government launched the ‘Stop Public Threats’ campaign to ensure that the community understands their legal rights and to encourage people to report any threats of violence to police.
The investigation and enforcement of any potential criminal charges is a matter for the NSW Police Force. A copy of Mr Alhadeff’s letter is being referred to the Police for their consideration.”
The CEO of the NSWJBD Vic Alhadeff said: “A few years ago, a speech inciting violence against Jews was given on the streets of Sydney by Ismail Al-Wahwah, His rant triggered a campaign which I led, resulting in a law being passed in June 2018 – Section 93Z of the NSW Crimes Act, outlawing incitement to violence on the basis of race, religion, gender, sexual preference and various other categories. The campaign was called Keep NSW Safe (www.keepnswsafe.com), for whom I was the spokesperson. Al-Wahwah has given another inflammatory speech.”
NSW Jewish Board of Deputies president Lesli Berger stated: “It is outrageous that the spiritual leader of Hizb ut-Tahrir, a radical Islamist group, can deliver such an inflammatory speech and publicly threaten violence with impunity. The hatred that Mr al Wahwah expresses is a chilling echo of a speech he gave some years ago, also expressing hatred, also threatening violence. One hopes that the NSW Government and the authorities make it clear that there can be no tolerance for such bigotry in this country.”
This needs to be reported in mainstream media. So much political correctness disallowing the most unobtrusive of statements abounds, with people making quick amends if ‘exposed’, and yet something as gross and extreme as this doesn’t even make it as a news item. We see it on our Jewish media.
Vic and Leslie: send it out.
