Sydney’s Emanuel Synagogue’s Rabbi Rafi Kaiserblueth will tour the Eastern Suburbs on the 2nd day of Rosh Hashanah sounding the shofar at chosen points.

One of the mitzvot unique to Rosh Hashanah is to hear the sound of the shofar.

Rabbi Kaiserblueth is inviting members of Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs Jewish community to gather into small groups at the following locations to fulfil the mitzvah of hearing the shofar safely while maintaining social distance.

Timetable for Sunday, September 20th:

Dudley Page Reserve, Dover Heights – 9:00am-9:30 am – By the corner of Hunter and Military Road

Lyne Park, Rose Bay – 10:00am-10:30 am – On the grass by the car park across from the tennis courts/Sugar and Spoon Cafe

Double Bay Park/Wharf/Steyne Park – 11:00 am – 11:30 am – In the middle of the park

Rushcutters Bay Park – 12:00 pm -12:30 pm – In the park by the corner of Loftus and New Beach Road

Trumper Park, Paddington – 1:00pm-1:30 pm – near the Duck Pond

Cooper Park, Bellevue Hill – 2:00pm – 2:30 pm – near the playground behind the tennis courts

Waverley Park – 3:00 pm – 3:30 pm Water fountain just east of the Council Chambers

Centennial Park – 4:00pm-4:30 pm – Amphitheatre just inside Woollahra Gates
