J-Wire asked Stephen Goodman, president of the New Zealand Jewish Council, about Palmer’s involvement. He said: “As a New Zealander it is always good to see a fellow countryman taking a leadership position on the world stage.  The Jewish community has found Sir Geoffrey Palmer to take a balanced, considered stance on issues.  We trust that he will follow the same pattern with this role and, along with the rest of the world, look forward to a rational report outcome.”
