As the Jewish International Film Festival moves into this year’s final screenings,  the film maker of “Pockets of Hope” Paul Green speaks to Henry Greener about the origins, people and meaning of the film project, involving the Jews and non-Jews of Poland.

Pockets of Hope will be screened at Melbourne’s Classic Cinema on Friday November 27 at 2:30pm. The Sydney-based team of vo-directors Paul Green and Judy Menczel accompanied klezmer singer Fay Sussman as she travelled around Poland singing songs in Yiddish in towns and villages in which Jews used to prosper.
