Thank you, JCA
Ari Heber, the executive director of Queensland Jewish Community Services has visited the Joint Communal Appeal office in Sydney to thank them for their assistance during the recent floods in South East Queensland.
Heber, in Sydney to attend the Ark Aid Concert featuring Jewish musical acts performing to raise funds for those affected by the floods, met up with Sharon Philippsohn who processed donations on behalf of the QJCS from her JCA desk.
Heber told J-Wire: “Working by myself, I didn’t have the time to process all the donations coming through and the JCA volunteered to run our back office for us. I put all the paperwork in two satchels and sent it to Sydney for Sharon to process. She liaised with me and my treasurer Scott Leonard and it all went, to her credit, very smoothly. This freed me up to get out of the office and offer my services where they were needed.”
Sharon Philippsohn added: “In this type of situation we were so glad that we were able to help…help that we would offer to any one else in a similar situation.”
