Forbes recommended the city as a leading tourist destination in the upcoming year, pointing to the unique attributes of the city, with “ancient history and modern living meeting in this bustling beach city along Israel’s Mediterranean coast.”

The magazine praised the city’s sandy beaches and particularly noted Tel Aviv’s new White City Center, a unique museum which is commemorating the 100th anniversary of the Bauhaus architecture movement this year.

“The museum spotlights the city’s unique look—the UNESCO-designated White City zone is home to more than 4,000 Bauhaus-style buildings, the largest such collection in the world,” Forbes wrote.

In 2003, UNESCO declared the White City zone in Tel Aviv as a unique World Heritage Site of the modern movement. The White City Center was founded in an effort to advance the recognition of the outstanding architectural landscape of Tel Aviv, with its unparalleled collection of Bauhaus-style buildings.

Tel Aviv is Israel’s second most populous city, with nearly half a million residents. The city is known for its lively nightlife and around-the-clock culture. It is also a major economic hub, ranked 25th in the Global Financial Centres Index.

Tel Aviv often receives worldwide acclaim as a tourism and business powerhouse. The city was ranked 7th best destination for foodies in 2020 BBC’s Good Food Magazine earlier this month and designated the best city in the Middle East and the 21st best in the world by the Time Out Magazine in March.
