Federal Labor MP for Isaacs Mark Dreyfus spoke to Melbourne’s CBD Chabad on “Taking Action on Climate Change”

Dreyfus, who is the Parliamentary Secretary for Climate Change and Energy Efficiency stressed that taking action today on climate change would leave the world a better place for our children.
He said that climate change is a huge problem with an increased population causing more green gas to be released into the air, creating carbon emissions which lead to climate change.
The 1996 Kyoto Protocol Scheme will end in its present form in 2012…a scheme which most of the world’s developed countries signed including India and China – but not the U.S.A.
Dreyfus said: “You cannot organise 192 countries at one time, so they were broken up into smaller groups.”
During question time the business men and women present learned that Australia is the largest exporter of coal in the world and that because Australia had a late start in dealing with green house gases it can expect a 2 degree temperature rise and a one metre rise in waters, at the end of 2050.
The meeting was organised by Rabbi Chaim Herzog, the shaliach of the Chabad of Melbourne CBD.
Sadly, pompous career politicians among the regular visitors to Israel didn’t bother to take notice of the Israeli building standards. Noted for the predominantly elevated multi-storey structures on the pillars which supported a template of the reinforced concrete beams and columns. Forming a skeleton-like-structure, swiftly risen above, before the hollow-blocks to fill the void. Forming a ceiling below and the above floor’s substructure for plumbing and electrical installation, buried within a layer of sand. Ultimately on that sand’s surface being run heating/cooling reticulation when designated, before floor-tiles accomplished the job.
So how that compares with the matchboxes disgrace proliferation downunder? Forsaken inhabitants of which being subjected to the recurrent floods, devastating cyclones and bush fires, if not for ferocious white-ants to consume their livelihood first.
