The gleaming new headquarters for Sydney’s JewishCare have been officially opened.

Fischl House

JewishCare’s new purpose built Community Centre ‘ Fischl House’ was officially opened by the Member for Vaucluse Gabrielle Upton on 14th October.
300 guests attended the ceremony in the transformed orange and black basement  carpark of the new centre. Guests were then taken on tours of the new 4 floor facility which now houses all of JewishCare’s Eastern suburbs based programs and office based staff. The guests were particularly impressed by the unique wall of hands in the foyer and the spaciousness of the facility.
Allan Vidor president of JewishCare paid tribute to Eva Fischl the immediate past present of the organisation as well those volunteers who  steered the fundraising and building committees. He especially pointed to the contribution of Allen Linz, Ali Linz and Alex Abulafia (Capital Appeal Chairman).  He also paid tribute to the ongoing contribution of Philip Carr who has put together this unique event.
He pointed out the great benefits of the new centre to the community and thanked all the donors  who made it possible.
Gabrielle Upton noted her close association with JewishCare and the wonderful work they do in the community. She pointed out they are in many ways a model to how local organisations work with government to make difference to the lives of those  people facing challenges.
