Emanuel School

THE EMANUEL SCHOOL DIFFERENCE

kids at macsEmanuel School caters for students from Pre-school to Year 12 on the same heritage-listed campus in Randwick. We welcome boys and girls from a diverse range of backgrounds and strive to make everyone feel included. We have a compulsory Instrumental Programme for students from Year 3 that ensures that music is one of Emanuel’s focal points. Our sports programmes are so popular that we often have too many teams to play against schools that are much larger than us – and we have won many sporting competitions. Every child is given the opportunity to represent the School as part of a sports team.

Jewish life at the School builds understanding and respect for the beliefs of others. Emanuel School’s Jewish vision believes deeply that “all Jews are responsible for one another,” Deputy Principal of Jewish Life Bryan Conyer said. “To be a committed Jew, one must be willing to engage meaningfully, knowledgably and respectfully with Jews who are different to oneself.”

kids with teacherOur Wolanski Specialist Learning Centre ensures students with a variety of learning styles and needs are accommodated appropriately within the School. Experienced and specially trained practitioners lead our Gifted and Talented Programme and Year 5 and 6 Opportunity classes. Students benefit from our e–Learning Laptop Programme that introduces laptops for all Opportunity Class and High School students, using the latest information technology.

Students can never be lost in a school of our size and opportunities for leadership, participation and representation are thrust upon them. Students in a larger school who might not have gained selection so often rise to the occasion in a smaller school. The students can all get to know each other, not just those in their year group. The intimate family feel adds much to the ethos. We are a community in every sense of the word – we support and care for others and for each other – and produce outstanding young graduates who make their mark with a generosity of spirit that is one of Emanuel’s hallmarks.
