Sydney Jewish community represented at ‘Say No To Racism’ rally

Over 1000 people attended a Say No To Racism rally at Sydney’s Town Hall Square organised and emceed by Unions NSW Secretary Mark Morey.

The event was as a tribute to the victims of the Christchurch massacre.

Representing the Jewish community, Board of Deputies CEO Vic Alhadeff outlined the campaign led by the Board of Deputies to call on the state government to criminalise incitement to violence on the basis of race, religion, gender and sexuality.

His remarks elicited repeated applause, as did the announcement that the Board of Deputies had launched a crowdfunding campaign for the Christchurch Muslim community.
