Leonie Cohen at the Sydney Opera House

Sydney-based Leonie’s unique and original music blends jazz, classical, klezmer and ancient and modern Jewish songs to express an intimate, uplifting, full of Jewish neshama and ruach (soul and spirit) experience.

The performance will be on Zoom at 10am on Friday, September 29 AEST.

Leonie Cohen is a former student at Sydney’s Masada and Moriah Colleges and currently teaches at the Emanuel School.

“BEING” is a celebration of self and identity, diversity and inclusion. Leonie’s compositions dive fearlessly into the depths of human emotion, immersing audiences in a journey that traverses the realms of introspection and exultation. Her music weeps for the injustices of the world while celebrating the transformative power of equality and openness. With a profound appreciation of the significance of family and community, her music honours these sacred bonds while infusing her performances with a sense of shared humanity and interconnectedness.
