Supreme Court Justice Ginsburg undergoes surgery to remove cancerous nodules
U.S. Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg underwent surgery on Friday at Memorial Sloane Kettering Center in New York to remove cancerous nodules from her lungs.
“Two nodules in the lower lobe of her left lung were discovered incidentally during tests performed at George Washington University Hospital to diagnose and treat rib fractures sustained in a fall on November 7,” according to a statement from the court.
“Post-surgery, there was no evidence of any remaining disease,” the statement said.
The 85-year-old has survived two previous fights with cancer.
