An official Jewish student presence has been established and fully affiliated with the Student Union at RMIT.

RMITThe RMIT University Jewish Students’ Club (RUJSC) is an independent, campus-oriented organisation with a focus on representing the interests and aspirations of Jewish students at RMIT announced Josh Karpin, Club President.

“Though only in its first year RUJSC has established itself as a large club on campus with over 30 members, and is working hard to provide a fun and friendly environment for like-minded people to discuss and promote religious, social and cultural issues associated with Judaism and Israel,” said Mr Karpin.

Having hosted a number of events already in 2014 including Welcome Drinks, Shabbat breakfast and Torah class, RUJSC is looking to build on this platform in the second half of 2014 with greater activism and energy on campus.

“We believe that Jewish students at RMIT deserve a strong, independent and hard-working organisation to best represent them and I encourage all students with an interest in Judaism to get involved with our Club,” Mr Karpin said.

RUJSC membership is open to all students at RMIT, regardless of religious belief or activism.
