THE Jewish response to climate change will be the theme of the NSW Jewish Board of Deputies (JBD) March plenum on Tuesday.

The March plenum will be held in person and online.

Featuring a panel discussion exploring the different ways Jews are addressing the issue, Professor Danielle Celermajer, Rabbi Danny Eisenberg, Joel Lazar and Ethy Levy will share their insights and experiences with the community.

“Jews all around the world are pulling up their sleeves to do their bit to stave off ecological catastrophe,” said JBD Social Justice Committee chair Liam O’Callaghan, who will moderate the discussion.

“Speakers from the religious, business, activist and academic sectors will discuss their important work as well as the Jewish values that fuel their actions and activism.”

He added, “It is important that members of the community educate themselves on the risks of inaction, but also what individuals and organisations can do to contribute to make their actions as eco-friendly as possible.”

The JBD’s March plenum will be held at 7.30pm on Tuesday, March 15. For details and to register, visit www.nswjbd.org/plenum.
