Special guests offer expert analysis and in-depth insights on UIA’s weekly Israel updates
Meir Javedanfar, Iranian-Israeli Middle East analyst, author, speaker and commentator, will be joining the Israel Update as a guest on Tuesday, 25 July, on Zoom.
UIA will host a number of special guests over the next few weeks on its weekly online Israel Updates.
Javedanfar has a PhD. in the history of Iranian security decision-making during the reign of Mohammad Reza Shah (1941-1979), has been a lecturer in Iran-related courses at Reichman University in Israel since 2011 and is the co-author of President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad’s biography, ‘The Nuclear Sphinx of Tehran’. Javedanfar is also a non-resident fellow at the Middle East Institute’s Iran program.
On Tuesday 1 August, participants will hear from Lieutenant Colonel (Res.) Sarit Zehavi, founder and president of the Alma Research and Education Centre and one of the leading experts in the challenges facing Israel’s northern border.
Zehavi served for 15 years in the Israel Defense Forces Intelligence Corps and holds an M.A. in Middle East Studies from Ben-Gurion University.
She has advised U.S senators and representatives on security developments in Lebanon and Syria, and held in-depth briefings in Washington, D.C. Zehavi is recognised worldwide as an authority and impactful speaker on the security issues facing Israel today.
UIA’s popular Israel Updates – which launched in April 2020 – include a unique analysis of the latest events in Israel by UIA CEO Yair Miller OAM and UIA Executive Directors and Shlichim Daniel Tuksar (VIC) and Jasmine Malul (NSW), as well as a Q and A with audience members.
