Sir Dov Meyer Robinson: a J-Wire sound report
J-Wire’s Keren Cook talks about Sir Dov Meyer Robinson, one of Auckland’s most famous mayors on the occasion of the city’s 175th anniversary.
In the segment, Keren talks to New Zealand Jewish Council president, a grand-nephew of Sir Dov Meyer…a man who made a difference.
I think he learned in famous Yeshivos in Budapest in his youth and opened the first Glatt Kosher Butchery on the lower west side of Auckland with his sister Chaya.
He was also the Gabbay of the ultra orthodox Gerer Shtibel.
