A 25-yr-old Melbourne man was killed in a road accident last week and a fund has been established to help his wife Rebecca who is five months pregnant.

Lawrence Shamrakov, a partner in a financial advisory firm, was riding his bike to work.

According to police reports Shamrakov “collided with a truck at the corner of North Road and Glen Orme Avenue Ormond.” He was taken to The Alfred hospital with severe injuries and passed away a short time later.

Described by those closest to him, as a “driven and motivated man who always put his family first,” Lawrence leaves behind a family in the making. His high school sweetheart and wife, 25-year-old Rebeca is five months pregnant with their first child already known to be a girl. According to sources, impending fatherhood was all that Lawrence could talk about.

His close cousin Anita Gelfond said he was “ always there for anyone who needed help.” His family and friends are now trying to do the same. Although Lawrence did have a Superannuation plan, there would have been little of it, to it due to his age, yet Rebecca still has to find funds to pay her mortgage and educate her yet to be born child.

A fund has been established and a link created for those willing to donate directly to the Shamrakov family.
