Sammi to Skate in Sweden
NSW 2010 Mick Brandon Sportswoman of the Year Award, Samantha Kadar has headed overseas to compete in the Junior World Synchronized Skating competition.

Her feats are so impressive, that although eligible to win Maccabi NSW’s Junior Sportswoman of the year award at our presentation last year, the judges felt compelled to award her the opens honour.
The tenacious athlete, who will travel with 16-strong ‘Majestic Ice’ team (pictured), says she hopes to earn a placing in the smaller France field, before her inexperienced group aims for a top-10 finish at the Worlds.
Her team came second in the recent Australian national championships, where Sammi was making her debut for her new team, and competed – and beat – her old team for the first time.
“It’s a new team, they’re all really nice and friendly,” Sammi told Maccabi News.
“Skating with all my friends and competing with them is great.
“Everyone should really try skating; it’s really fun, and although it takes a lot of hard work, in the end, the results are amazing!”
Sammi, who trains three times a week, adds that she is “thrilled” to represent Australia on the national stage.
“I just got my new team pants and jacket,” she beamed. “It’s really exciting now.”
