Courage to Care VIC CEO Mike Zervos has ‘Raced Against Racism’, running a marathon and raising funds for Courage to Care. Well… he’s back and ready to run again in 2024.

On Sunday, Mike yet again plans to run the 42.195km Melbourne Marathon. This is Melbourne’s iconic event finishing with a lap on the hallowed turf of the MCG.

The community has gotten behind Mike and donated so that we can deliver Upstander Programs to students across Victoria, educating on the dangers of prejudice and discrimination, including antisemitism and racism.

This year Mike is aiming at a fundraising target of $4,219 – $100 for each km traversed!

Mike said: Running 42kms at my age is certainly a physical and mental challenge but I’m inspired listening to our volunteers and other stories of Upstander behaviour. The need for Upstander Programs is greater than ever before, and this is reflected in the unprecedented demand we are seeing from schools across the State. Thanks to our wonderful and dedicated volunteers who are out in schools every day, we are educating and empowering students to stand up against discrimination in their schools and communities. All donations will ensure Courage to Care Vic can deliver Upstander Programs to schools across Victoria FREE of charge.”

You can donate to help create a generation of Upstanders and support Mike’s marathon effort to reach the finish line at https://marathon-mike-is-back-for-2024.raiselysite.com/
