Shalom! I wanted to wish a good new year to Aotearoa’s Jewish community with the beginning of Rosh Hashanah this evening.

Jacinda Adern

I know that, like many events over the past 18 months, celebrations will look a little different to normal.

It will be disappointing not to be able to gather and observe these holy occasions with friends and community as you would usually do. However, my hope is that you will still find ways to acknowledge this occasion with your loved ones and ring in Rosh Hashanah.

May the new year bring peace and happiness to all of you and your loved ones.

Shanah Tovah Oo-Metuka.
