Rising from the Ashes
For many who survived the terrors of the Holocaust, questioning ones faith and belief in G-d, religion and Judaism became a real and profound challenge to face. How do you continue to recognise a G-d who allowed such tremendous evil to occur?…a new video from Melbourne’s Jewish Care.
I completed my thesis on this exact topic ‘Orphaned Holocaust Teenagers and the Rhythms of Jewish Life’. Of the 43 interviewees from Sydney and Melbourne, only 7 kept their faith in God. The rest still follow their traditions but question the existence of God.
I am happy to forward on my thesis to interested readers.
