Chairman Henry Wirth announced  that both Villages had enjoyed a successful year, and that the standard of facilities and the friendly atmosphere that pervades both sites are amongst their most admired attributes.

He paid tribute to the long standing service and devotion to the work of the Villages in various capacities over the years by retiring Board members Ralph Hirst, Brenda Finkelstein, Anna Marks and John Roozendahl.

The voluntary Administrators of both Villages, viz. Yvonne and Michael Shapiro at Princess Gardens in the east, and Raymond Kassel and David Laufer in the north, were also thanked and congratulated for their efforts.

Apart from the appointment of Jacob Tarszisz as Director and Treasurer, and the unopposed nomination of Jeff Miller as a Director, the Board remains unchanged and moves in to a new term with Henry Wirth at the helm, and three vacancies remaining unfilled at this time.

The Chairman also advised of the decision to advertise for the services of a  General Manager, commencing on a part-time basis, to take control of the day-to-day running of both Villages and looked forward to the successful person guiding the Villages through the next phase of their on-going service to the Sydney Jewish community.
