Remembering Yitzhak Rabin
Australia’s B’nai B’rith Anti-Defamation Commission has honoured the memory of Yitzhak Rabin on the anniversary on his assassination.
Chairman Dr Dvir Abramovich said on the 21st anniversary Rabin’s assassination said: “We pause to honour the extraordinary legacy of this warrior for peace. Rabin’s tireless devotion to the Jewish state and his courageous pursuit of a long-lasting resolution between Israelis and Palestinian remain an inspiration to us all.
As terrorism continues to envelop the region and to strike at the people of Israel, his inspiring message of a common humanity and a shared dignity must stir all nations to advance his important work, and to realise his vision of a reconciliation and prosperity for all the peoples of the Mid-east.
Let us remember the words of President Bill Clinton, who, during the Prime Minister’s funeral, said, “Now it falls to all of us who love peace and all of us who loved him, to carry on the struggle to which he gave life and for which he gave his life. He cleared the path and his spirit continues to light the way.”
