Religious Radio on ABC

Robert Goot, President of the Executive Council of Australian Jewry, has met with the ABC to discuss religious programming on radio.ABC Managing Director, Mark Scott, told the meeting which included representatives of the Catholic and Christian faiths, that whereas scheduled broadcasts were no longer available, there were no plans to scrap the religion unit. The unit is operative “when appropriate”. A new head of radio planning is scheduled to be appointed in mid-2009 and that the current situation would be monitored and reviewed.
