The Emanuel School is to host a huge ‘fun-raising’ night of laughter, benefiting the school’s Australian representatives at the 19th Maccabiah in July.Maccabi610

The night will feature Dave Bloustien, Alice Fraser, Rodney Marks, Peter Meisel, Stef Torok – all direct from the Melbourne and Sydney International Comedy Festivals – plus Comic Roasts musical satire and the stars of Kosher Theatresports!

Bloustien is a sought-after TV comedy writer with a number of recent festival hit shows to his name (Wit Large, Grand Guignol, Social Contract). Fraser’s show Word Crime is Sydney Comedy Festival must-see and she will also headline in “The World’s Funniest Women”. Marks is Australia’s premier hoaxer and jokeser, Meisel is known as ‘Australia’s Woody Allen’ and Torok’s hilarious magic/comedy routine is always a crowd-pleaser. Geoff Sirmai and his musical-satirical partner-in-crime David Fisher round off the bill – along with a champion team from Kosher Theatresports.

Hosting the night will be Sirmai – actor/comedian, Emanuel parent and self-confessed soccer tragic. The show will benefit the eight Emanuel students who are preparing to wear the green and gold in Israel. Plus Sirmai himself, who will be ‘living the dream’ in July, playing in the Masters’ football team.

Audience-members can ‘tag’ and direct funds to their favourite athlete as they book.

There will be refreshments, audience magic, lucky scrolls and a ‘Monster Raffle’ with prizes including a weekend away for two – courtesy Toga Hotels – as well as sports memorabilia and other goodies!
