Seventy-one Christian supporters of Israel travelled a 13-hour trip from the New Zealand city of Hastings to the country’s capital Wellington to protest outside parliament against New Zealand sponsoring the UN resolution 2334 condemning Israeli settlements.

In front of the Beehive- NZ’s parliament

The Flaxmere Christian Fellowship Church Hastings and 11,685  supporters had signed a petition to parliament entitled FOR THE PROTECTION OF ZION.

Pastor Nigel Woodley said the petition called on the NZ Government to cease from pressuring  Israel to give up its “rightful and God-given land and to recognize Israel’s right to sovereignty over the entire Land of Israel”.

Pastor Nigel Woodley

Pastor Woodley said: “We condemn completely the UN SC resolution 2334 which outlaws Israeli settlements in Judea & Samaria (west Bank) and East Jerusalem. Israel should pay no attention to this antisemitic, anti Israel, unjust and evil resolution. NZ has no right, nor the international community, to impose on Israel restrictions as to where they can and cannot live within their historical homeland.

We condemn completely the back stabbing double cross the NZ Government  has bloodied its hands in  regarding this Judas operation. It may seem that the visit of John Kerry just weeks ago (December)was part of the conniving of this evil decree. We may never know.  NZ’s Foreign Ministry and minister should be ashamed of their part in this resolution. The NZ Government should be ashamed  of allowing the Foreign Ministry to take part in this. The question is: Did the Foreign Minister Murray McCully have cabinet backing? They have

David Zwartz

betrayed a traditional ally and friend for the spotlight on the world stage and then congratulated themselves.

Israel is the only true democracy in the middle east and offers the only port of stability in the region. The fact that NZ in formulating this resolution worked and co-sponsored it with one of the most hostile nations toward Israel- Malaysia-brings this nation into even more disrepute and disgrace.

The very thing that the NZ foreign  ministry says it is trying to achieve (peace) has been postponed by this foolish, naïve and treacherous back stab.

This section of notes covered the history of the league of nations and its plan that the Jewish National Home was to be from the river to the sea. Jordan being the Arab state of the British mandate. It is Israel’s (The Jews) by biblical sanction where the ancient history of Israel is recorded. Nobody has the right to tell Israel to give up what belongs to them. If Israel chooses to give up potions of its land to

Protesters

appease and make peace with the Arab Palestinians  then so be it. but that should be the prerogative of the Israelis. And they have shown they are willing to do so   but the Palestinians refuse to negotiate. The UN resolution has tried to impose its will on Israel and thus has driven the prospect of a negotiated peace further away. This is the UN action we condemn.

240 local people from the Wellington Jewish Community and other friends of Israel groups and individuals joined the rally. Joining the protest is Jewish Wellington identity David Zwartz a former Honorary Consul of Israel who addressed the meeting saying “UNSC 2334 totally negated the foundation UNSC 242 of 1967 which referred to ‘secure and recognised boundaries’”

Zwartz said that the NZ government had broken its long-standing policy of “even-handedness” in the Israel-Palestinian conflict by co-sponsoring an anti-Israel resolution with two states, Venezuela and Malaysia, which did not even have diplomatic relations with Israel.

Zwartz NZ Minister of Foreign Affairs Murray McCully seemed more prepared to undertake shady deals with Saudi Arabians than safeguard the sites in Jerusalem holy to Christianity and Judaism.

Pastor Woodley said: “We welcome the Australian statement today that they do not support one sided resolutions against Israel. Pressure is mounting on Bill English.

Parodying “From the river to the sea” the meeting sang “Live live Is-ra-el, resolution go to hell”

There were no Members of Parliament in Wellington. Its summer holidays here and everyone is at the beach soaking up the sun.”

Protest is pointless as the UN resolution has been passed unanimously with one abstention.

And that will happen regardless of the number of sheep that New Zealand sells to Araby.

Foreign policy that is based on such flagrant immorality is dry rot that will undermine the foundations of a decent society.

13 hours from Hastings to Wellington. They must have been on the back on Donkeys. It is a four hour trip at a leisurely pace.
