Morry Frenkel speaks with Dr Ron Elisha, renowned and prolific playwright about “Rootless Cosmopolitans”, the most recent of his plays to be produced in Australia.

Ron describes why the play has been referred to as a ‘dangerous comedy’ and how its examination of the polarising power of social media, antisemitism and identity politics, make it a play of our times. He discusses his fruitful collaboration over a number of plays with director Susan Heywood and his excitement in having Anton Berezin take the lead role. Ron also talks about his play, “Anne Being Frank”, which won awards during its off-Broadway run and about its possible tour of Australia later in 2024 or early 2025. Tickets for the world-premiere season of “Rootless Cosmopolitans” at Chapel Off Chapel, May 15th – June 2nd, can be obtained at www.chapeloffchapel.com.au
