The NSW Premier has sent a Pesach message to the Australian Jewish community.

Premier Gladys Berejiklian

She writes: “It is my pleasure to wish the Australian Jewish community of NSW a happy Passover.

Passover commemorates a pivotal moment in Jewish history – the liberation of the Jewish people from slavery in ancient Egypt and their long passage to freedom. It affirms for us the importance of compassion and gratitude.

It is also a story of courage in the face of hardship, which is particularly significant as we reflect on the challenges of the past year.

I am grateful to the Jewish Australian community for supporting the measures put in place to contain the spread of the coronavirus. Your vigilance has kept our community safe and enables families and friends to come together at this time.

I wish everyone a peaceful and healthy Passover.”
