Australia’s Foreign Minister Penny Wong visited Yad Vashem in Jerusalem during her short stay in Israel.

Penny Wong lays a wreath in Yad Vashem

Following her tour of the World Holocaust Remembrance Centre, where she laid a wreath in the Hall of Remembrance,  Penny Wong noted in Facebook:
“It was important for me to visit Yad Vashem during my first trip to Israel as Foreign Minister.
We must never forget the six million Jewish lives taken in the Holocaust.
In the shadow of the abhorrent terrorist attacks by Hamas on October 7, and at a time of rising antisemitism, we remember those lost, and reaffirm our commitment to always stand against hatred.”

Everything Wong says is carefully scripted. She has nothing to offer Israel except platitudes.
