PA prime minister claims Israel experimenting on bodies of dead terrorists
Palestinian Authority Prime Minister Muhammad Shtayyeh has claimed that Israel is “increasing the pain of the bereaved children by detaining the corpses of terrorist fathers killed in clashes with Israeli forces claiming these corpses are being used in the laboratories of medical schools in Israeli universities in flagrant violation of human rights, values, principles and scientific ethics.”
He called for an international boycott of Israeli academic institutions.
Speaking on Monday at a cabinet meeting in Ramallah, Shtayyeh alleged that Israel used the bodies of terrorists killed by security forces in laboratories of the medical faculties of universities. apparently echoing classical anti-Semitic myths, while calling on international universities to boycott those Israeli universities involved in detaining the bodies.
He said this would “put pressure on the occupation authorities to stop violating the bodies of the martyrs and to immediately release all their detained bodies, so that their families can bid them farewell, in a manner that befits them and respects their feelings.”
Israel holds the bodies of dead terrorists as a possible bargaining chip in future negotiations, especially those on Israelis held captive by terror organizations. However, claims about medical experiments conducted on the bodies are baseless.
In response, the Israeli Foreign Ministry expressed on Thursday “shock at the hateful words, which are another expression of the Palestinian Authority’s campaign of incitement against Israel.”
Palestinian Media Watch has explained that the Palestinian Authority’s use of anti-Semitism and “the apex of this ideology, and possibly its purpose, is to use this demonization of Jews as the basis for denying Israel legitimacy and to present Palestinians as the ultimate victims.”
“The tragic reality is that this Palestinian Antisemitism and its conclusions may already be ingrained in Palestinian society. The goal of PA demonization of Jews transcends mere hatred. Antisemitism is its political tool to defame Zionism, deny Israel’s right to exist and create victimhood as the glue that cements Palestinian national identity. Because this political goal will exist as long as Israel exists, Palestinian Antisemitism will be much harder to uproot,” PMW cautioned.
