j-junction, the only Australian Jewish matchmaking service is bringing back matchmaker assisted introductions for the over 50’s.

In March 2010 j-junction will resume matching for all ages and invites members to register at www.j-junction.org.au.

From its launch in 2006 j-junction was open to Jewish singles from 23 years up, however, the ratio of registered men to women in the 50+ age group limited matching opportunities for older singles.  “This imbalance still exists” said Michelle Lewis, general manager of j-junction, “however we see a real need in the community to offer service to this age group. We can’t wave a magic wand and create more men so I’d urge all single Jewish men to register because we have wonderful, dynamic,  youthful women waiting to meet sophisticated, intelligent men of all ages’.

To enhance the new services j-junction plans to offer a range of social groups and activities for their members.  Amanda Garlick, j-junction’s volunteer events manager is currently recruiting volunteers for an events committee especially for members from 45 to 60 and 60+.   “We are looking for people to organize and host small group events and special interest groups.  We are also planning some bigger events during the year.  Our recent survey indicated that drinks parties were a popular choice and we look forward to announcing the venue for our first drinks party to be held in May” Garlick said.
