Oscar a bitter sweet pill for Zionist chief
Yaakov Hagoel has posted on X his reaction to British filmmaker Jonathan Glazer’s prepared acceptance speech following being awarded the Oscar for the Best International Film Zone of Interest.

The movie depicts the suburban life of the family of the Nazi commander of the death camp Auschwitz whose house and garden bordered the stern walls of the camp.
In his speech, Glazer said: “Right now, we stand here as men who refute their Jewishness and the Holocaust being hijacked by an occupation, which has led to conflict for so many innocent people — whether the victims of October the 7th in Israel or the ongoing attack on Gaza — all the victims of this dehumanisation… how do we resist?”

Chairman of the Executive of the World Zionist Organization Yaakov Hagoel posted on X: “In Hamas’s list, we all appear. You too, Jonathan Glazer, who desecrated the memory of the six million Jews murdered by Nazis.
#Hamas, the modern-day #Nazis, will spare no means to reach every #Jew, “humane” as he may be.
1,300 people were slaughtered in one day. 134 abductees have been undergoing physical, mental, and sexual abuse for the past five months.
I am urging you, Mr Glazer, you self-hating Jew who lives in a bubble in Islamist-ruled London, to come here to #Israel.
Meet the families of the abductees. Look in the eyes of the mother of Shiri, of the one-year-old baby Kfir & four-year-old Ariel, who are all being held by these vicious terrorists. Look at the photos of the women who were brutally raped, abused and murdered, and ARE being raped in tunnels to this day.
Look at the parents of the hundreds of young people who came to a party just to celebrate life, nature, and love and were slaughtered just because they were #Jewish.
Where is your condemnation? I saw that “ceasefire” pins your “friends” were wearing at the ceremony. It’s about time the world knew what the “hands” on those pins symbolize.

A perfect response, Yaacov Hagoel. I am wondering if Glazer’s film is artifice rather than artistry and how much substance it can really have.
Sir Len Blavatnik who is normally a proud Jew and Zionist and who financed the film, was standing sheepishly right next to Glazer. I would like to think he was taken by surprise even though Glazer claimed to speak for the three Jews then standing on stage.
Being the Oscars I presume that many Jews were present in the room. I wonder how many walked out in disgust. Any?
