Open email to the Claims Conference
J-Wire has received a copy of an email sent to the Claims Conference….
To: Members of the Claims Conference Board:
Julius Berman continues to think he is absolving himself of wrongdoing by citing the extensive investigation by the FBI and the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ). What he fails to point out is the FBI and DOJ have no jurisdiction over incompetence, negligence and arrogance.
The Board of Directors of the Claims Conference does have such jurisdiction in their capacity as the overseers of the Conference. If the Board does not act swiftly by removing Messrs. Berman and Schneider then they are equally complicit in this debacle.
Dr. Barry Resnick of Orange, California is a college professor who lost relatives in the Holocaust
I wholeheartedly agree with both comments.
Berman and Schneider draw million-dollar salaries plus overtly generous pension benefits and CEO’s level travel accounts. After that they claim it isn’t their fault with what was going on New York for 17 years. It is, probably, last opportunity to remove these two “mahers” from giving away billions of dollars in the Restitution assets to their friends.
Paul Winter is absolutely right that the Claims Conference thievery and pillaging is a huge blemish on the whole world Jewry.
That is why I support heroic efforts of the Australian David, Isi Leibler, who alone wages two-decade long struggle to fight corruption in the Claims Conference and use resources to help poor and dying Holocaust survivors.
I applaud Dr Resnick’s comments.
The crooks who callously inflicted hardship on needy survivors, adding insult to injury sustained in the Shoah, deserve every punishment that can be imposed. Those who were derelict in their duties of oversight, deserve to be named, shamed and shunned. The fraud – even if not criminaltiy – that went on for years was undetected because of conceit and arrogance.
The theft shines a bad light on all Jews. The responsibility for that is squarely on the shoulders of the Claims Conference leadership, particularly so, because they strongly resisted openness when it was asked for years ago.
