The book is the brainchild of Sydney women Judy Kempler and Pnina Jacobson. The book captures stories and recipes from 50 prominent members of the world-wide Jewish community.
Internationally-acclaimed Israeli singer Dudu Fisher told Kempler and Jacobson that his grandmother was a Holocaust survivor determined not see her beloved grandson want for something to eat…so she bribed him daily after school to eat food placing a value on each item. Topping the list was a commodity rarely found in Nazi concentration camps…eggs.
Hence, the title of the book.
