On the other hand…writes Michael Kuttner
Those relying on their local media for good news about Israel are bound to find that positive stories are few and far between.
We all know why this is so. Therefore in an effort to redress the balance I hope to present via J-Wire a regular weekly glimpse at developments, innovations and human interest events which normally would be shunned because they portray Israel in a positive light.
A PALESTINIAN ARAB OFFICIAL DONATES TO AN ISRAELI HOSPITAL:
An unnamed official from the Palestinian Authority received oncology treatment recently at Rambam Hospital in Haifa. While hospitalized he met many patients and families from the PA areas and noticed the large number of children receiving treatment. Rambam, like other Israeli hospitals provides medical care to over a thousand Palestinian Arab residents annually.
This official noticed that these children suffering from serious illnesses need all the help they can receive. He decided to donate tens of thousands of shekels to provide a playroom for children undergoing radiation therapy. In his own words: “I decided to make a donation to help save human lives apart from any political considerations.”
One day hopefully Arab donors to an Israeli hospital will not need to fearfully hide behind anonymity in order to escape being targeted by their compatriots.
GLOBAL INNOVATION LEADER:
The UN Global Index for 2017 has found that Israel is first in the North Africa and Western Asia category and 17th. overall in the high incomes countries group. This rating reflects results in human capital and research, market and business sophistication and technology production.
This survey will no doubt be of great use to all boycotters and help them to decide which innovations and cutting edge technology to avoid in the future.
DEFEATING THE DESERT:
Israel is a world leader in turning the desert into fertile and productive land. Down south the miracle of making the wilderness blossom can be seen and experienced as once barren landscapes are now green and thriving kibbutzim, towns and cities.
Take a look at this short video to see why Israel is leading the way:
Just imagine what could be achieved in Gaza if the billions in foreign aid were used to improve the lives of its residents instead of being utilized to build terror tunnels and indoctrinating school children to hate.
Generally most media news are not good stories.
The modern media is obsessed with death, disaster and trivia.
Three great positive stories – keep it up Michael
Hopefully you’ve got lots more up your sleeve
Pity there is no daily news outlet – print or otherwise
For the world to witness these great achievements
