In ancient times the blasts of the Shofar alerted the Israelites to approaching danger. How appropriate therefore that today we are experiencing the exact same situation.
The lesson could not be clearer.
In addition to a spiritual wake-up call, these shrill notes also remind us to be prepared to strengthen and defend our brethren wherever they may be situated.
